Wellington police have recovered the body of a man who was seen entering the water near Te Papa this afternoon.
Police were called to the Wellington waterfront about 2.30pm after the man was seen entering the water and did not resurface.
The Police Dive Squad was called in to help with the search.
Police said the man’s body was found at 5.10pm.
His death has been referred to the coroner.
