The Hurricanes will defend their place at the top of the Super Rugby Pacific table when they face the Crusaders at Hnry Stadium on Friday night.
The Hurricanes sit first on the ladder with seven wins from nine matches, level on points with the Chiefs but ahead on differential, adding extra weight to a key Round 12 clash in Wellington.
Kick-off is set for 7.05pm on May 1, with the match also doubling as the return of the club’s “Light the Night” event, featuring pre-game entertainment including lasers, pyrotechnics and live music.
The Hurricanes have named a strong side led by co-captains Du’Plessis Kirifi and Jordie Barrett. Hooker Asafo Aumua and halfback Cam Roigard will be central to the home side’s forward momentum and attacking shape.
The Crusaders, currently fourth on the table, arrive with a balanced lineup captained by David Havili. Codie Taylor and Ethan Blackadder anchor the forward pack, while Braydon Ennor and Johnny McNicholl provide pace out wide.
With the competition entering its final stretch toward the playoffs, the result could prove pivotal. A Hurricanes win would help solidify their hold on top spot, while the Crusaders have an opportunity to close the gap on the leading teams.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early, with gates opening at 5.30pm and entertainment starting ahead of kick-off.
