Wellington’s volunteer managers and community leaders will gather for a free breakfast on Thursday 5 November, with leadership coach Jess Stuart speaking about how to keep leading effectively as the world changes.

Volunteer Wellington | Te Puna Tautoko is hosting the International Volunteer Managers Day breakfast from 7am to 8.30am at Level 1 of the BNZ Centre, 1 Whitmore Street. Everyone is welcome, but registration is essential.

The morning brings together people who manage volunteers and others who work alongside them, combining recognition of their contribution with time to meet colleagues from across the community sector.

Stuart, an author and speaker who works with organisations in New Zealand and overseas, will explore how leaders can remain effective and adaptable while sustaining their work over time. Her keynote will be followed by a brief question-and-answer session.

She has written eight personal development books and has a background in human resources and people development. Her work focuses on mindset, contentment and work-life balance.

This year’s theme, Legacy and Leadership: Honouring the Past, Present and Future, recognises both the people who have shaped volunteer management and those bringing new ideas to the role. International Volunteer Managers Day is held each year on 5 November.

For the Wellington region, that work sits within a network spanning hundreds of community organisations. Volunteer Wellington’s three offices support more than 300 organisations through volunteer engagement, training, networking, advice and mentoring.

Volunteer Wellington, Volunteer Hutt and Volunteer Porirua operate as one organisation, helping community groups connect across the capital, Hutt Valley and Porirua.

Breakfast and attendance are free. People registering are asked to include any dietary requirements. Book through the Humanitix registration page.
