Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to New Zealand, Prasanna Gamage, has visited Wellington-based IT company Data Torque to discuss potential business partnerships and opportunities in Sri Lanka.
Gamage met Data Torque chief executive Vernon Kay and other senior executives during the visit to the company’s Wellington office.
According to the Sri Lanka High Commission, Data Torque operates in more than 20 countries and specialises in tax collection procedures and transformation strategies.
Discussions covered potential partnerships and areas where Data Torque could collaborate in Sri Lanka.
Gamage briefed the company’s management on economic and political developments in Sri Lanka, as well as relations between Sri Lanka and New Zealand.
He also discussed Sri Lanka’s IT sector and opportunities for overseas businesses.
During the visit, Gamage met Sri Lankan IT professionals working at Data Torque and discussed the sector and potential opportunities for further development.
The visit was announced by the Sri Lanka High Commission in Wellington.
